New Feature: Text Message Treatment Updates

New to the Arfinn Med portal comes the ability to receive real time updates from patients via text messaging. This new addition will allow physicians to stay up to date on current patient efficacies as well as streamline the data collection process. Through the new text messaging function, physicians are able to send patients automated texts with the intention of collecting data on their medical cannabis treatment outcomes.

How It Works

When creating a new patient case, physicians input the patient’s phone number along with all other relevant information. Once a phone number is entered, a drop-down box will appear offering the physician to choose if the patient has opted in for text message updates. These text message updates will automatically be sent to the patient at a specific date and time with a request to rate their treatment efficacy on a scale of one (Adverse Reaction) to five (Total Resolution of Symptoms). All the patient will then have to do is respond with a number (1 through 5), and the data is collected in their case file.

The Benefit

“We want to ensure that physicians have real-time responses from their patients about their medical cannabis treatment plans,” said James West, founder and CEO of Arfinn Med. “Several states have long durations between required appointments, so physicians need to have tools to track their patients’ progress and create an open dialogue during a treatment period to increase the likelihood that the treatment plan will be further customized for the patient.”

Providing this type of feature will significantly save physicians time when collecting updates from patients. Instead of lengthy office visits or following up via phone call, one text can collect all the information needed. All data received through this text messaging feature is a real time update to help give a full picture of how that specific treatment is affecting each patient. Along with saving both the physician and patient time, this feature is also expected to increase patient retention. With such a hands-on approach, the text messaging feature will encourage patients to keep their physicians updated and refine the treatment plan, if/as needed, to obtain the results they desire.
